BAPE meets UGG boots
0The winter season is approaching and it looks like A Bathing Ape is hoping to cash in on the UGG craze. The BAPE foot soldier boots are made from sheep skin and come in four different colours.
If you live in a country with a winter season, you will probably be familiar with the road salt which is used to get rid of the ice all over the roads. A crappy side effect is that it leaves a nasty white stain on your jeans and shoes (it can be washed off). The beige boots won’t be so bad for this but the black boots will show it like crazy. Either way, I don’t need to worry since I won’t be wearing these since they are obviously a girls style. I always think it is good though when BAPE does make girl styles since they do make up half the worlds population (maybe more, havn’t ran my stats in awhile!). BAPE – RAKUTEN EAGLES NEW PRODUCT RELEASE

You might not know this, but Japan loves baseball. It is not a new fad either, Japanese have enjoyed baseball as a sport and past time for a long time. In fact, I think that the sport still holds more popularity in Japan then it does in North America. So it isn’t really a big shock that BAPE has teamed up with a Japanese baseball team, the Rakuten Eagles. I am not sure what made then decide to go with that team only so I am going to go out on a limb and say that it is Nigo’s favourite Japanese baseball team (mine too!).
I am happy to mention that BAPE and Rakuten Eagles have come out with a pretty good amount of products with the latest release. I think so far, the BAPE / Sanrio team up has been the largest amount of items released for a collaboration effort with A Bathing Ape but this is definitely a close second.
BAPE Concepts: A Bathing Ape + Wu-Tang Wu-Wear
0Aside from being a huge fan of BAPE, I have also been a long time fan of the Wu Tang Clan. I have been listening to their music since the early 90’s and still do (I listened to them today even). So naturally, while working on my BAPE concept ideas; I thought that it would be awesome if BAPE and WU TANG teamed up for a limited line of clothing. This would be a perfect match, as Wu Tang already has a line of clothing called Wu Wear. The Wu-Tang Clan was founded and created in Staten Island in New York state so I can guarantee that if BAPE + WU TANG items were placed in the New York City BAPE Store it would sell out in less then a day. They would probably have to close the store down early because everything would be purchased within hours.
I really hope NIGO, or someone at A Bathing Ape finds this and decides to make it happen. Or, if the RZA comes across this, I know he can make it happen. RZA and NIGO would make an awesome team and I know RZA likes Japanese culture so who knows, maybe they will come out with something.
A BATHING APE / SANRIO BABY MILO STORE

BAPE is on a roll this year for collaborations with other companies. I think this is a good idea on BAPE’s part because it creates additional unique styles which the brand wouldn’t have been able to do prior. This time around, it looks like they have teamed up with San Rio the creators of Hello Kitty. I can’t say that I’m a fan of Hello Kitty but I am sure that this line of items is going to sell well with women. The current selection of womens clothing from BAPE is pretty lacking which is unfortunate for all our feminin friends. One thing I am surprised about with the BAPE San Rio release is the ammount of different items they have. They went all out! There is t-shirts, hoodies, pants, skirts, baby bibs, baby one piece sleep suits, shopping bags, shoes, neck ties, necklaces, wrist watches, coffee mugs, hand towels, food place mats, wallets, purses, duffle bags and a hat. That is a lot of stuff!
One thing which I think is really cool is the baby shoe BAPESTAs. I also learned something new, apparently SANRIO has 5 other characters aside from Hello Kitty, apparently they are not cool enough to make it big. Also, anyone else notice the subliminal perverted star over the girl characters crotch? WTF!?!? Why couldn’t she be holding the star wand in her other hand so it is covering over nothing? I think the marketing industry is full of pervs as you see stuff like this in adds all the time. It is like an industry inside joke or something (Disney does stuff like that all the time).

Nigo’s Workshop – Hand Printed / Silk Screened T-shirts

For a limited time, you can get your own hand printed t-shirt. There are 6 designs to choose from. 5 of the designs feature Baby Milo in different samurai outfits. There is also one BAPE design featuring the ape head in different colours.
As you can see, the final result comes out pretty good. If you are in the area, you should definitely stop by and pick one up.
